The full line-up for the forthcoming Ocean’s 8 movie has been revealed. Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett are signed to star, while deals are said to be close with Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling and Awkwafina. That’s just even I hear you cry – well, yes indeed so it’s not quite a full line-up, but producers are said to be close to signing an unnamed eighth key cast member for the film which is a reboot of the Ocean’s Eleven movie.
Ocean’s 8 is produced by Ocean’s Eleven’s Steven Soderbergh, while Gary Ross will direct and has co-written the screenplay with Olivia Milch.
There are no key details around the story, but you may remember that the 2001 movie, which was directed by Soderbergh, itself a remake of a 1960s Rat-Pack movie, revolved around a gangster by the name of Danny Ocean (played by George Clooney) who rounds up a gang of associates to stage heists of three major Las Vegas casino’s (Bellagio, The Mirage, and the MGM Grand) simultaneously during a popular boxing event.
