Another day, another The Mummy set photo, though this time its from a different continent as the production moves to Africa.

We brought you some ‘Mummy’ set pics a couple of weeks ago, one of which showed the film wrapping up shooting on location in London (near Bank station). I had just assumed that all was done on the film, but no. The Mummy set photo that we have here shows stars Tom Cruise, Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson and Courtney B. Vance on set in a ‘desert’ location.

Here’s the official synopsis, as provided by Universal.

Thought safely entombed in a crypt deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient queen (Sofia Boutella) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her, is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.

From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.

Jon Spaihts (Prometheus) wrote the screenplay, and Alex Kurtzman is directing. Look out for this one in cinemas on June 9th, 2017.
