The Avengers movie titles may have been slimmed down, but writing the two screenplays is anything but simple.

These Avengers movie titles have changed…

There are about fifteen movies in some state of production over at Marvel at the moment and while that may a slight exaggeration, we cannot help but be excited still. The two films at the top of the pile, at least in terms of budget, profile and actors involved, are the next two Avengers movies, which will be shot back-to-back next year. The Avengers movie titles were said to be Avengers: Infinity War Part I and Avengers: Infinity War Part II, but it looks like that might have been changed.

After a result of a probably ‘meeting’, the next Avengers film, due in 2018 will be titled Avengers: Infinity War, and the second one, which will hit cinemas in 2019, is remaining untitled at the present time. The reason is to ensure that they are seen as two separate movies, and not one film split into two parts. Which makes sense, though we always knew that the The Avengers movie titles were going to be changed eventually.

Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely are currently hard at work writing the films for Marvel Studios, and the pair recently spoke to Yahoo to give them an update on proceedings. The two said that “we’re many drafts in. We’re on the third draft of movie one and the second draft of movie two.”

Sounds like a hell of a job as they also revealed that they are working on both screenplays at the same time…

“On any given day, you’re only working on one but that doesn’t mean that next week, you aren’t working on the other one. And certainly, notes are coming in and all sorts of production stuff is coming in, like for instance, ‘that thing over there is now a window not a door so adjust that.’ Or, ‘we’re not going to this town now, we’re going to this town’. That kind of stuff happens constantly and will continue to happen for the next few months.”

The full interview can be found over on Yahoo! Movies’ Facebook page. There’s tons more information over there.

Avengers: Infinity War will debut in cinemas in May 2018, and the untitled second film in May 2019.
