Nick Jonas Jumanji news

We absolutely loved Nick Jonas in his break-out role in Goat, a film which will hit cinemas later this year. The film, which revolves around fraternity hazing rather than goat grazing (though there is a goat involved), featured such a strong performance from the Jonas brother that it has caught the eye of Sony and the filmmaking team behind the Jumanji remake as Deadline report that he is in talks to star.

Already amongst the cast of the redo of the 1995 favourite based on the adventure book by Chris Van Allsburg), which starred Robin Williams and Kirsten Dunst, are the likes of Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart and Jack Black. The only thing that may stop Jonas appearing in the remake is his reported hectic music schedule, and no doubt the promotional activity that will go along with the release of Goat, which finally hits U.S. cinemas in September.

The Jumanji remake is being directed by Jake Kasdan and Sony Pictures have already slapped a July 28th, 2017 release date on it, so filming will have to get cracking soon. Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner wrote the latest version of the script, which is based on an earlier draft by original writers, Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.

Jonas can also be seen in the TV series Kingdom, which will soon hit UK shores, a show revolving around the world of MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) – one in which he’s also been sounded out on in a very positive way.

We’ll bring you more news on the Nick Jonas Jumanji news as it comes in. Let’s hope this all comes together as it would be great to see the talented actor and singer in a mainstream big-budget studio movie.
