Saw 8 directors revealed: The guys that brought us Predestination could be tackling the next chapter in world’s most famous modern horror franchise.

Saw 8 directors – The Spierig Brothers
The Saw 8 directors may have been found. It is being reported that the German-born Spirit brothers, Michael Spierig and Peter Spierig, could take the helm of the eighth movie in the franchise, following their impressive work on Daybreakers and Predestination.
Saw 8 is being formally referred to as Saw: Legacy, and is rumoured to be going into production later this year. The film will be written by Piranha 3D writers Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger, a fact we first discovered all of the way back in February. Plot details are being kept under wraps with the project shrouded in secrecy, but we know that this is pretty high on the agenda after a casting call was put out just a couple of weeks ago with the film set for a shoot between September 12th and October 21st.
Dan Heffner and Oren Koules will produce Saw: Legacy, the franchise’s seventh sequel. Altogether the seven existing films have grossed over $800 million worldwide, all from very low budgets.
James Wan and Leigh Whannell created the world of Saw over twelve years ago. The original movie, which was released in 2004, reignited the genre and made a huge $103 million around the world – from a budget of just $1.2 million.
The plot revolves around two people who regain consciousness while chained to pipes at either end of a filthy bathroom. As the two men realize they’ve been trapped by a sadistic serial killer nicknamed “Jigsaw” and must complete his perverse puzzle to live, flashbacks relate the fates of his previous victims. The six movies that followed all revolved around similar plots, though each had their own, unique twists, something the franchise became famous for.
