Universal are definitely going all out for their monster movie universe which they’re kicking off with the in-production The Mummy. That film is being led by Tom Cruise and Sofia Boutella, but news reaches us today that they may have found their Frankenstein in the form of Bond actor Javier Bardem.
Variety reports that the Spanish actor is in talks to play Frankenstein in Bride Of Frankenstein, though it is not clear which monster movie he will first make his debut in. The word is that the character would get a debut in a feature featuring another monster before getting his own spin-off.
Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan are heading up the new monsters universe which could also see Russell Crowe play Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. The word is that he will first be see in The Mummy, which is just about wrap production in London.
So, what do we think of Javier Bardem as Frankenstein?
