The very first images of Sofia Boutella in the in-production reboot of The Mummy have appeared online. The images give us our very first look at the actress in the title role of the movie, which continues to shoot in London.
From what we can see, the shoot took place over the weekend in the City, notably near Bank tube station north of the river Thames.
The story revolves around ‘an ancient queen whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension’, according to the official synopsis.
The film also stars Tom Cruise, and will be the first film in a long line of monster movies from Universal. Future installments will include Wolf Man, Frankenstein’s monster and Count Dracula.
Sofia Boutella will net be seen in this month’s Star Trek Beyond.

The Mummy will be released in 2017.
