‘Saw 8’ could go before the cameras by the end of this year

John-Kramer=Saw-Legacy

The Saw franchise has been one of the most popular of the last decade. Starting in 2004 with its ground-breaking original, the franchise spawned six sequels and a seventh could go into production by the end of the year.

The film will actually be titled Saw: Legacy and will be written by Piranha 3D writers Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger. The mighty genre website Bloody Disgusting reports that a listing for the planned movie has been found on IATSE873, a site that supports a union of stage, theater and movie employees/operators. If the listing is true, it seems that Saw 8 will shoot be tween September 12th and October 21st of this year. Exciting, right?

The film has no director currently, but the movie will be produced by Dan Heffner and Oren Koules. A release is scheduled for October 2017.

The Saw films have grossed over $800 million worldwide, all from relatively small budgets. James Wan, who went on to direct the lieks of The Conjuring and Furious 7 directed the very first film from a screenplay by Leigh Whannell.
