Today, we are celebrating Independence Day. Of course, we are referring to the release of Independence Day: Resurgence which finally arrives in UK cinemas twenty years after the debut of the ground-breaking, landmark-destroying original. To co-incide with the release, the folks over at Vue Entertainment have conducted some brilliant research among 2000 respondents that has revealed that one in three of us here in the UK believes in aliens.
Does that surprise you? Well, how about this – the same research shows that 41% of us believe UFO’s have already landed on earth. London is the only region whose majority believe that UFOs have already landed on Earth at a massive 51%.
The folks in the West Midlands (44%) have officially been made the region the capital of alien believers, closely followed by the actual capital itself with total believers coming in at 40%.
The most scary revelation from the research conducted by Vue is that in an alien invasion, Brits are more likely to save their mobile phone than their photo albums, which kind of makes sense I suppose – who prints photos any more? Brits also voted The X Files as the show to have most influenced their views on aliens.
