Universal Pictures are really going after the A-list for the monsters-universe. After landing Tom Cruise for The Mummy and potentially Russell Crowe for Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde, Deadline are reporting that they are ‘courting’ Dwayne Johnson for a new version of The Wolf Man.
Buried in a story about Johnson’s producing duties on comic-book adaptation Son Of Shaolin (which he may also star in) was this little tidbit.
…there are persistent rumors Universal wants him howling at the moon when it gets around to the Wolf Man movie that is part of its classic monsters franchise revival plans.
Aaron Guzikowski is writing the screenplay for The Wolf Man movie, which will form part of the universe that Universal is kicking off with The Mummy reboot next summer.
That’s all we have for now, but we’ll update you as more comes in.
