Rob Zombie though more famous as a rock singer has for the last decade or so been moonlighting as a film director. His offerings have all been strongly in the horror vein, with each getting more twisted and demented as they go. His latest offering 31 looks to be his bloodiest project yet if the new trailer is anything to go by.
The film is set at Halloween (of course) and sees five unsuspecting carnival workers kidnapped and subjected to a night of living Hell. Their tormentors are a gang of maniacs dressed as clowns, a staple villain of Zombie’s films. Definitely not one for the coulrophobics.
31 again stars Zombie’s wife Sheri Moon Zombie, this time as the heroine. Also back for another collaboration is Malcolm McDowell who plays a character called Father Murder, we’re guessing he might be one of the bad guys.
Given that Zombie had previously been responsible for films as bleak and horrific as The Devil’s Rejects, The Lords of Salem and House of 1000 Corpses we can only imagine what stomach-churning sights await us.
31 arrives in the US on 16th September with a UK date still to be announced.
