A new Friday The 13th movie is in development, and has been for quite some time, but some news has emerged from The Reel Word on what the new movie will play like. We’ve heard that it may have been a found-footage film, but the latest suggests that it will be an origin story.
Producer Brad Fuller spoke with the website about his new release Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows, but was asked about the long-planned Friday The 13th reboot, where he shed new light.
“There was a lot of found-footage scripts that they wanted us to make and I was not going to do that because I don’t think that can exist in Jason Voorhees’ world,” Fuller told The Reel Word
Aaron Guzikowski has written the new screenplay, on which Fuller commented, “Aaron’s story has great characters…You kind of have to understand Jason Voorhees, so we go back and we kind of started over and work our way forward.”
“[It will be] origin-ish, but it’s an origin that no one has seen before. Obviously Pamela’s there, but it’s a little bit different from what you’ve seen before.”
Exciting stuff. No news on when this will start rolling, but as always, you’ll be first to know via these pages.
