Ben Affleck is confirmed to be starring in this summer’s Suicide Squad (in a very limited capacity), and also the upcoming Justice League films, before heading out on his own for a stand-alone Batman film. We didn’t know too much about the story of the planned movie, which Affleck will also direct and co-write with Geoff Johns, until now.
The actor has been out and about promoting Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice (well, this was from a little while back and news has only just reached the web) and had this to say about the film to Cines Argentinos.
“I think what I would do, what I probably would do, is in some ways what Zack [Snyder] did with this movie, which is to borrow certain things from the great comic books, but create an original story around it because I wouldn’t want the fans to already know the story and be familiar, but I would borrow, steal, great things that have been done before in the comics.”
Sounds okay (as long as it’s a little better than BvS, please). The film is being referred to as The Batman, and will head into cinemas after the two Justice League films.
More as we get it.
