Joining the list of actors linked to the James Bond role, that currently includes Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba and even Gillian Anderson, is Billy Elliot star Jamie Bell. Bell, who was last seen in Fantastic Four, would make a much younger Bond, and if these rumours are true, would actually make him the youngest 007 ever.
According to reputable source Deadline, Bell recently met with Producer Barbara Broccoli about the coveted role. Bell worked with Broccoli on his latest film Film Stars Don’t Die In Liverpool, which is showing as being in pre-production on the IMDB. Paul McGuigan will direct that film, which also stars Julie Walters and Annette Bening.
Deadline said the following: ‘It has also been widely reported (and confirmed by Deadline) that Jamie Bell has discussed the Bond role with his Film Stars Don’t Die movie producer Barbara Broccoli (who has long produced the Bond movies). Craig has been very vocal about not wanting to do another Bond.’
Pinch of salt. We’ll bring you more as we get it.
