Action man Dwayne Johnson isn’t slowing down any time soon as it has been revealed that the world’s biggest movie star has added another movie to his roster.
Johnson will headline a Skyscraper movie set in China, which will be written and directed by his Central Intelligence helmer Rawson Mitchell Thurber. Said to e a cross between Die Hard and The Towering Inferno, the film is an adventure thriller that takes place in a mega-skyscraper set in China.
The Hollywood Reporter says that ‘the planned project also is said to have shades of Die Hard, the classic Bruce Willis action movie set in an office building, as well as Towering Inferno, the 1974 disaster movie that starred Paul Newman and Steve McQueen and featured a gargantuan office building engulfed in flames.’
Okay, we’re in.
No idea as to when shooting will star as Johnson is currently at work on the eighth film in the Fast and Furious series having just wrapped on the Baywatch movie. He also has the adaptation of the video game Rampage on the horizon, as well as a film based around the Disney ride ‘Jungle Cruise.’ A very busy boy.
The Skyscraper movie will be produced by produced by Beau Flynn, who also produced Dwayne Johnson’s Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, San Andreas, and the upcoming Baywatch.
More as we get it.
