There has been all sorts of talks over the past few weeks that Michael Keaton may be returning to the comic-book universe with a role as the villain in Spider-Man: Homecoming, which starts shooting really rather soon. Well, those rumours were quashed a couple of weeks ago, but over the weekend, rumours returned and it looks like Keaton may be coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after all.
Variety are reporting that Keaton departed after Robert Downey Jr. came on board to reprise his role as Tony Stark/ Iron Man in the movie, and ‘it appeared as though the studio wouldn’t be able to afford both talents.’ Well, apparently, they have now found a way to make it work, and Keaton is literally about to sign on to appear in the film opposite new Spidey Tom Holland.
We have no plot details, or exactly who Keaton would be playing if he does put pen to paper, but we’ll of course bring you more as we get it.
