We haven’t even seen Suicide Squad yet, or have we (No, we haven’t), but Warner Bros have revealed that a Harley Quinn-based movie is in the works and the glorious Margot Robbie is very much on board the brilliant crazy train to star and also produce.
Robbie being involved as a producer is particularly interesting as she’s recently been working and co-starring with Tina Fey in Whiskey Tango Foxtrot in which Fey produces. According to an interview she gave with Total Film, it gave Margot a chance to see the other side of film making, something that she’s very much interested in getting more and more involved in. Personally, I think Warner Bros taking that character and moving it forwards is a clever plan, Harley is a firm fan and Joker-related favourite but, also, she’d surely do very well out on her own.
THR also reported this isn’t a solo movie idea though, as DC want to mix it up with a selection of their female heroes and villains. For me, this just keeps getting better. There’s so many to choose from with the likes of Batgirl, Poison Ivy, Catwoman, Enchantress, Huntress, Mera… and – of course- Wonder Woman who’s got her own film as well in 2017.
Sure it’s early days but we love this idea, make this Harley Quinn goodness happen Warner Bros, this is the good stuff and keeps it fresh.
