John Hurt stars in the upcoming film adaptation of the NJ Crisp play That Good Night and after principal photography ended this week, we get our first look at the wonderful Brit actor in the lead role of Ralph, a famous screenwriter coming to terms with his impending death.
As Ralph begins to accept his eventual passing, he also resolves to attempt two final missions in life; to be reconciled to his long-lost son (Max Brown), and to ensure he doesn’t become a burden to his wife Anna (Sofia Helin) as his health declines, he hires a mysterious Visitor (played by Charles Dance) to help him. Directed by Eric Styles, with a screenplay by Charles Savage, it was shot over 5 weeks in Portugal, That Good Night also stars Erin Richards, Noah Jupe, Joana Santos and the producers are sharing scenes at Cannes this week – follow all our coverage from there right here! – so expect to see it in select cinemas next year.
