‘The Wolverine 3’ will be rated ‘R’ in the U.S.

The Wolverine 3 has officially started shooting and it has been revealed that it will officially be rated R in the U.S.. The filmmakers are gunning for the rating, probably following the success of Deadpool earlier in the year. It should get at least a 15-rating in the UK if it is awarded the R certificate by the MPAA.

Producer Simon Kinberg spoke with Collider about the highly anticipated movie, which is expected to be Hugh Jackman’s last outing as Wolverine.

“I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say about that. I will agree with you that Patrick Stewart was rumored to be a part of that film. It takes place in the future, and as you and others have reported, it is an R-rated movie. It’s violent, it’s kind of like a western in its tone. It’s just a very cool, different film,” Kinberg said.

Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant, Richard E. Grant, Eriq La Salle and Elise Neal are also amongst the cast of the James Mangold directed sequel, which will be released in Match of 2017.
