Alden Ehrenreich, who appeared in the Coen brothers’ Hail! Caesar earlier on this year will be the young Han Solo in the forthcoming Chris Miller and Phil Lord directed stand-alone Star Wars movie.
Disney haven’t officially confirmed the news as yet, by multiple sources are reporting that the search is over and Ehrenreich will assume the role in the stand-alone Star Wars movie, which will be released in March, 2018.
Lawrence Kasdan and Jon Kasdan wrote the screenplay for the movie, which will focus on how young Han Solo became the smuggler, thief, and scoundrel that we’ve all come to know and love today. It will be set before the events of A New Hope.
Shooting will probably start on this towards the end of the year/ early next to get it ready for that 2018 debut. No further cast members have been announced, but we’ll keep you posted.
