Mads Mikkelsen, who we revealed would be heading for Cannes this year to take a place on the jury, has revealed his role in perhaps one of the year’s biggest movies, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, to Sky News.
Lucasfilm haven’t previously disclosed the role in which he is playing in the film, which also stars Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso, the female lead.
Speaking with the news channel, the Danish actor said: “Felicity Jones is playing this lovely young strong woman. I play her father, and…that’s too much, I’m sorry”. You can see the interview below.

Mikkelsen has a very busy year. As well as the Cannes jury role, and Rogue One, he will also appear in Marvel Studios’ next Doctor Strange, which releases in November, just a month before the debut of Rogue One.
