Michael Keaton was reported to be in talks to join the cast of the upcoming stand-alone Spidey movie Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Homecoming, but news reaches us today that he has departed the project. There is good news though, as it has been revealed that Robert Downey Jr. has officially signed to appear.
Downey Jr. will reprise his role as Tony Stark/ Iron Man in the film following his turn in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War, a film that we reviewed quite favourably over here.
No word on how much of Stark we’ll see in Spider-Man: Homecoming, but we’re guessing quite a bit. Once you see Civil War, it will become apparent as to why.
Tom Holland will play the role of Peter Parker/ Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Homecoming, while Marisa Tomei will play Aunt May.
More on this as it comes in.
