At the huge CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Sony Pictures capped off their presentation with the news and some special footage. Tom Holland jumped across to Vegas from the Captain America: Civil War world premiere in Los Angeles to officially announce the title in fron of a packed crowd at the convention. More on SpiderMan Homecoming below.

“It really is a homecoming,” Holland said during the presentation, “because, throughout the movie, Peter is trying to find out who he is and where he belongs in this world.”

ComingSoon.net were there, and described the scene that they were then shown from the upcoming Captain America: Civil War.

In the clip, Parker comes home to find Tony sitting on the couch with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei). Parker is surprised to see the famous billionaire playboy superhero sitting in living room and can only nod as Tony winks at him, clearly aware of his secret identity. Helping hide that secret from May (about whom Tony jokes, “It’s hard to believe she’s anyone’s aunt”), Stark pretends that Peter applied for a special program with Stark Industries and has been selected.

The official Spider-Man Twitter page also shared the logo for Spider-Man Homecoming. Check this out.

Tom Holland will start shooting very soon for a July 7, 2017 release. Holland stars opposite pop sensation Zendaya, and Marisa Tomei, who plays Aunt May (sounds like she’s in Civil War briefly too).

John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein (Vacation) wrote the screenplay for the film, which will be directed by Cop Car‘s Jon Watts. More news on SpiderMan Homecoming as we get it.
