Doctor Strange poster: Marvel release our first look at the film ahead of its debut teaser trailer, which will be launched in the U.S. later tonight.
Marvel Studios have debuted the first Doctor Strange poster. The arrival of the one sheet comes just hours before the studio offer us our first glimpse at the November released movie vis its first trailer.
Benedict Cumberbatch leads the cast of Doctor Strange, the second Marvel Studios movie to hit cinemas following this month’s Captain America: Civil War, which opens in the U.K. on April 29th, 2016. U.S. audiences have to wait another week as the film doesn’t arrive there until May 6th.
Doctor Strange also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave) as Baron Mordo, Tilda Swinton (Only Lovers Left Alive) as The Ancient One and Benedict Wong as Doctor Strange’s humble servant, Wong. Rachel McAdams (The Vow), Michael Stuhlbarg (Pawn Sacrifice), Scott Adkins (The Bourne Ultimatum), Amy Landecker (Transparent), and Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal) make up the rest of the cast. The Doctor Strange poster comes months after we were given our first taste of the movie, which is now in post-production.
The film tells the story of Stephen Strange (aka Doctor Strange), an acclaimed neurosurgeon who uncovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions after a near-fatal car accident, showing audiences corners of the Marvel Cinematic Universe never before explored.
Here’s how Marvel.com describe their character.
Doctor Strange is one of the most powerful sorcerers in existence. Like most sorcerers, he draws his power from three primary sources: the invocation of powerful mystic entities or objects, the manipulation of the universe’s ambient magical energy, and his own psychic resources. Strange’s magical repertoire includes energy projection and manipulation, matter transformation, animation of inanimate objects, teleportation, illusion-casting, mesmerism, thought projection, astral projection, dimensional travel, time travel and mental possession, to name a few. The full range of his abilities is unknown. Doctor Strange’s powers are sometimes less effective against strictly science-based opponents, although he can overcome this limitation with effort.
Scott Derickson directs Doctor Strange, which will arrive in cinemas from Friday, November 4, 2016. Check out the full Doctor Strange poster in all of its glory below.
