Ade Edmondson in Star Wars? The British comedy legend has apparently got a part in the Episode 8.
Yes, you are reading that headline correctly. According to The Sun, British comedian and actor Ade Edmondson, has been cast in Star Wars Episode 8 after impressing J.J. Abrams and director Rian Johnson.
Edmondson, who appeared with Rik Mayall in The Young Ones and Bottom, and on the recent TV drama adaptation of War and Peace, will apparently appear in an unknown role in the forthcoming sequel, the eighth in the Star Wars saga which began with Star Wars: A New Hope back in 1977.
A source told the newspaper: “Ade is starting to go back to his acting roots after doing a lot of reality TV recently and this is a huge deal for him.
“His character is top secret, like everything else to do with the film and its plot.
“But given his old comedy characters, it would make sense for them to give him an eccentric part.”
The Ade Edmondson in Star Wars Episode 8 news is little strange, and out of the blue, but good luck to him! He’s a brilliant actor. Also joining the saga in the new film is Laura Dern and Benicio Del Toro. They will appear alongside The Force Awakens actors Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie and Andy Serkis.
Star Wars Episode 8 is now shooting in the U.K. and has filmed some scenes over in Croatia. Ryan Johnson wrote and will direct the film, which is scheduled for release in December, 2017. Abrams will produce this time around following his stunning work on Episode VII, which is released on DVD and Blu-Ray in the U.S. this week, and in the U.K. in just two weeks time.
