Night At The Museum helmer Shawn Levy is all set to direct and produce a new remake of the classic 1980s movie Starman. The original movie starred Jeff Bridges and was directed by John Carpenter, and has developed a cult following in the thirty years following its release. The remake is set up with original producer Michael Douglas set to return, while Arash Amel (Grace Of Monaco) is writing the screenplay.
The original told the story of an humanoid alien (Jeff Bridges) who came to Earth in response to the invitation found on the gold phonograph record installed on the Voyager 2 space probe. Bridges was nominated for an Oscar for his performance.
The remake, like the original, is set up at Columbia Pictures.
