The Gambit movie, which was set to go into production this month, has been delayed once again, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Rupert Wyatt was set to direct the X-Men spin-off over at 20th Century Fox, and then Doug Liman was drafted in to take over when Wyatt left the project. Well, according to the trade the shoot has been delayed as the screenplay undergoes another rewrite, this time courtesy of Reid Carolin (Magic Mike).
The delay will give Liman the chance to go and shoot a smaller movie named The Wall over at Amazon Studios, and work on Gambit is expected to begin towards the end of the year once Carolin has finished up on the latest version of the screenplay.
Channing Tatum will play Gambit in the planned movie, which will be with us in 2017/ 2018.
