There’s about six weeks until we get to see the first Marvel movie of 2016. Captain America: Civil War looks positively awesome, but we’re a little half-hearted in our expectation as the film may just prove to be the last time we see Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man – at least in a stand-alone movie away from The Avengers anyway.
Speaking with USA Today, Robert Downey Jr. said that there probably won’t be a fourth Iron Man film. Sadness. Here’s what he had to say.
“I don’t think that’s in the cards. In a way it’s Cap 3 but for me it’s like my little Iron Man 4. And then it’s back to the thing we all recognize. Everything pulls over to the side of the road when the thunder of an Avengers thing comes through because that’s how it is until it changes. If it changes.”
He will show up in Captain America: Civil War next month, but after that its anyone’s guess. Watch the trailer for the huge 2016 Marvel movie here. It opens in the UK on April 29th, and the U.S. on May 6th.

The thing is you can’t replace Tony Stark. Other than Rhodey, he’s the only only one who wore the suit. As far as I know, there’s been no other guy. ‘Teen Iron Man’ doesn’t count and don’t ask about ‘Teen Iron Man’.
