Kevin Smith didn’t like the ‘Ghostbusters’ trailer either

Filmmaker Kevin Smith hasn’t been one to hide his thoughts on anything popular culture, and he’s not shy in coming forward to comment on the recent Ghostbusters trailer either. He didn’t like it.

Speaking on a recent episode of his popular Hollywood-Babble-On podcast, Smith had the following to say.

“Whoever cut this trailer needs to be sat down, and I’m not going to call for their job to be taken away from them but they need to be scolded. It could’ve been all men with the same jokes, and it still would have sucked. The trailer’s not strong, and that doesn’t mean the movie’s gonna blow, like again the f–king pedigree of this movie is undeniable. There’s no way all these people involved don’t make a f–king funny, at least watchable fun movie.”

He did say that he was a huge fan of Feig’s prior to those comments made above.

The rest of the internet hasn’t been too happy with the trailer, either. You can look at the comments under the official YouTube link to see an example of that. The dislikes for the trailer are currently over double of the amount of likes.

Ghostbusters makes its long-awaited return, rebooted with a cast of hilarious new characters. Thirty years after the beloved original franchise took the world by storm, director Paul Feig brings his fresh take to the supernatural comedy, joined by some of the funniest actors working today – Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Chris Hemsworth.

Personally, I hope this is awesome. Let’s not judge until we see the film. A trailer is just that. A promotional taste. Nothing more.
