This year, Tim Burton brings his first new film to the screen since 2014’s Big Eyes. Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children arrives on our shores this coming Autumn, and is based on the bestselling novel by Ransom Riggs.
Here’s the plot before we have a look at the first images from the new film.
From visionary director Tim Burton, and based upon the best-selling novel, comes an unforgettable motion picture experience. When his beloved grandfather leaves Jake clues to a mystery that spans different worlds and times, he finds a magical place known as Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. But the mystery and danger deepen as he gets to know the residents and learns about their special powers…and their powerful enemies. Ultimately, Jake discovers that only his own special “peculiarity” can save his new friends.
Tim Burton comments, “When I was first approached to direct Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children I was given a summary of the novel with all of the photos in the book. I was immediately intrigued by the haunting and mysterious pictures in Ransom Riggs’ novel and knew I wanted to tell the story of those kids. A girl, lighter than air, a boy with bees living in his stomach, a woman who turned into a bird—it was a world I wanted to explore. So I made a film about them.”
Here are the first look images from the film, which will be released later this year.
