Tom Hiddleston has been on our TV screens over the past few weeks in the superb The Night Manager on the BBC, and he will be seen on the big-screen in High-Rise next weekend. While out doing press, Hiddleston seemed to throw his name into the frame as a possible replacement for Daniel Craig once he hangs up his Walther PPK as James Bond.
Speaking with The Guardian to promote High-Rise, Hiddleston had the following to say:
“Time magazine ran a poll and there were, like, 100 actors on the list, including Angelina Jolie. But, yes, it’s nice to be included in the 100.
“I’m a huge fan of the series. We all went to see Spectre when we were shooting Skull Island in Hawaii. I simply love the theme tune, the tropes and the mythology. I love the whole thing. If it ever came knocking, it would be an extraordinary opportunity…and I’m very aware of the physicality of the job. I would not take it lightly.”
The actor is currently 10/1 at the bookies to don the tuxedo as the next 007, slightly behind Tom Hardy and Idris Elba.
Craig is supposedly still contracted for one more 007 adventure, but we have heard rumours that he may have already taken his last journey as the famous super-spy.
