Its no secret that fans of American Horror Story were a little upset / worried for the future of the show when the great Jessica Lange departed the series. These concerns were increased further when it was announced that Lady Gaga had joined the cast. Thankfully she was perfectly cast in the fifth, hotel-set, series as the vampiric Countess, she even bagged herself a Golden Globe.
Work is now underway on the sixth season of the show, and speculation has been rife about whether the singer would return. During a radio interview a few days ago the singer took the opportunity to confirm that she will be involved in the forthcoming series. She was quick to also state that “I can’t promise you how or when, or anything like that.”
Each series of the show sees the slate wiped clean as a whole new concept is brought to life. So far we’ve had murder houses, asylums, wicked covens, freak shows and horrifying vampire-infested hotels, but so far there has been no word on where the next direction will go next. All we’ve heard so far is that the period will be “set in the present”, with “echoes of the past.”
Gaga also couldn’t share any information about her potential role, although despite the usual slate wipe she could potentially be back as The Countess. As the show’s have progressed they’ve started to slowly connect, albeit very loosely, to other instalments. We’ll find out either way when the show returns to screens in Autumn.
