We though as much, but now author J.K. Rowling has confirmed that Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, which releases this November, will be the first in a planned trilogy of movies.
Rowling, who penned the source material, gave an update via Twitter whilst correcting a fan who said that her forthcoming play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, would be a movie too.
You heard wrong, I’m afraid. #CursedChild is a play. #FantasticBeasts will be 3 movies, though! https://t.co/7tvw4rolcR

Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them will be released in 3D and IMAX on November 18, 2016.
