I’m starting to get the impression that Ryan Reynolds likes to get in the minds of his craft-mates…literally.
Not satisfied with ‘shedding’ Ben Kingsley in Self/Less and his delusional self in The Voices (which may help to explain his sojourn as the Green Lantern), Reynolds finds his deceased memories, secrets and skills as a CIA operative implanted into apathetically dangerous death-row inmate Jerry Stewart (Kevin Costner) in hopes that he will complete the deceased operative mission and prevent a diabolical plot.
Scripted by Double Jeopardy writers Douglas Cook and David Weisberg, the Ariel Vromen directed action-thriller with a hint of sci-fi also stars Gary Oldman and Tommy Lee Jones.
This high-concept offering from Summit Entertainment looks promising at first glance so check the clip and poster art out for yourself and let us know what you think:
Criminal opens in UK and US cinemas on 15th April, 2016.
