The next Divergent movie is going to need another director. It has been revealed that Robert Schwentke has exited the final chapter in the lucrative franchise, The Divergent Series: Ascendant.
Schwentke directed both the Insurgent and Allegiant movies in the franchise, but won’t return one last time as he’s in need of a break after directing high-profile back-to-back films in the popular series.
Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Octavia Spencer and Naomi Watts star in The Divergent Series: Allegiant, which arrives in cinemas on March 18, 2016.
Ascendant has a release date set for une 9, 2017, so the studio and producers will have to get cracking and find a new director if that release date will be met.
We’ll bring you more as we get it.
