Paul Rudd Ant Man 2 chat: The actor speaks from the Sundance Film Festival.
We haven’t heard any Paul Rudd Ant Man 2 talk for a little while, so lets kick off your Tuesday with some. The actor recently headed to the snowy climbs of Park City, Utah to promote his latest film, The Fundamentals of Caring, which was actually the festival’s closing night film, written and directed by Rob Burnett. Speaking to SuperHeroHype, the actor opened up about what the future held for him in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and his next appearance as Ant-Man in Captain America: Civil War, which hits in May.
“I know that when I signed up for it that there was always the potential that they’d do another one or it would tie in in some way, but specifically, I wasn’t aware and I’m still not totally aware of how that’s the case,” he told the site. “We are doing a second one, so those meetings are starting to be scheduled and underway as far as what it’s going to be. We’ll start writing it soon.”
Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari are writing with Paul Rudd on Ant-Man and the Wasp, the follow-up to last year’s well-received Marvel movie, which Peyton Reed will probably return to direct. Rudd spoke about how it has been to work with the writing duo on the next film.
“It’s been very easy,” Rudd said. “Marvel’s been great, as far as if I have something else and they’ll work around it. It’s not like I’m working on a series which might be a little trickier as far as schedule. I worked on ‘Civil War’ and I didn’t really work on it for very long, but as far as ‘Ant-Man 2,’ I already know when that’s going to go, so you just kind of plan accordingly. If anything comes along that I can film before or after and it works out time-wise and it makes sense, Marvel’s been supportive.”
Captain America: Civil War will open on April 29th, 2016. More Paul Rudd Ant Man 2 talk at the end of the link above.
