It is being reported that kids’ cable channel Nickelodeon have hired the talents of Napoleon Dynamite director Jared Hess to helm a Nicktoons movie. The film will apparently feature a bunch of classic Nickelodeon characters that will include Rugrats, Ren & Stimpy, Rocko’s Modern Life, Aaahh! Real Monsters, and The Angry Beavers.
Deadline reports that Paramount are cooking up plans to deliver a movie which could be their version of Who Framed Roger Rabbit, the 1980s movie that featured most of the Disney and Hanna-Barbera cartoon characters. We’re not sure if this film will be live-action and animation, but already it’s starting to sound really cool.
Jared Hess’s next film is Masterminds, a comedy starring Zach Galifiankis which won’t be released until the end of September.
More on the planned Nicktoons movie as we get it.
