‘Kingsman 2’ set to go international, says Taron Egerton

Kingsman

Taron Egerton led the Eddie The Eagle screening at Sundance this week alongside his co-star Hugh Jackman. The film is apparently getting rave review and we can’t wait to check Dexter Fletcher’s new movie out. There’s a bit of a wait for the biopic, but as the film screened in the snow, Egerton gave an update on the state of Kingsman 2, which will shoot later this year.

Speaking to Collider, the actor said:

“With Kingsman, we’re shooting in the summer at present. There’s a script, it’s brilliant. Obviously there’s only so much I can say but what I can say is that we shot [the first] one all in the U.K., that won’t be the case with the next one. It’s a far more international story, we’re going to some incredible places, and we have a villain to rival Samuel L. Jackson—this new one is so brilliantly written I wish I could play it. It’s amazing.”

Here it is, straight from the horse’s mouth.

Wow. Sounds pretty positive. The original movie, which was directed by Matthew Vaughn, who produces Eddie The Eagle, bagged an impressive $410 million around the world last year. The sequel will hit on June 16, 2017.
