Sam Raimi is reportedly in talks to direct an American remake of the 2009 French film A Prophet. Variety is reporting the news that the legendary Evil Dead director is to tackle an English-language remake of the film, one that Dennis Lehane has adapted from the source material.
The original film revolved around an Arab man who is sent to a French prison and soon becomes a Mafia kingpin among the prisoners.
The trade reports that the studio behind the remake, Sony, want this to go before the cameras later this year. Expect casting news very soon.
