Sony have announced that they will release their Jumanji reboot in the summer of 2017. The film has been pushed back from this Christmas to next summer.
The news comes as their Spider-Man redo with Marvel has also had a release date set for the same summer. Spider-Man will now release on July 7th, 2017 with Jumanji heading for cinemas later that month on July 28th.
Jake Kasdan is directing Jumanji from a screenplay by Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner. It is based on the 1980s book by Chris Van Allsburg which was previously turned into a movie with Robin Williams in 1995.
Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is rumoured to be debuting before audiences in this year’s Captain America: Civil War. Shooting on his stand-alone adventure starts shooting later this year with Cop Car‘s Jon Watts directing.
