Character actor Robert Knepper has joined the cast of the Jack Reacher sequel Jack Reacher: Never Go Back.
Tom Cruise returns to the title role in the sequel, which is currently shooting in New Orleans. Deadline reports that Knepper will play a supporting role in the Edward Zwick directed feature, a character named Gen. Harkness, ‘a retired general-turned-CEO of a private military contractor firm. He’s described as a man of power, experience and authority who thinks he’s the hero and is not afraid to do what’s necessary.’
The film is based on Lee Child’s 18th book in his ‘Reacher’ series, and has been adapted for the screen by The Equalizer scribe Robert Wenk.
Knepper is most famous for his role in the hit TV show Prison Break, but has also enjoyed outings in films, including The Hunger Games: Mockingjay.
We’re expecting the film in cinemas on October 21, 2016.
