McG talks up the ‘Charlie’s Angels’ reboot

Charlies-1

Very soon, Elizabeth Banks will be taking the helm of the Charlie’s Angels reboot, but lets not forget about the two movies that McG directed a couple of years back. Actually, they’re better best forgotten. Anyway, the director, whose next film The Babysitter will be seen later this year, has been talking to Collider and sharing his thoughts on the Charlie’s Angels reboot, and how it feels to already have his older movies being rebooted.

“That’s just life”, he told the website. “I always identify as a young person, but I’ve been around a little bit now. I’m not longer the youngest guy doing it. It’s interesting”.

“That one makes me smile and makes me happy because I love Elizabeth Banks. We’re all stewards of any one given moment. I was happy to be the steward of that moment, and there’s now a new steward. That’s cool”, he added.

“Right now, somewhere, there are three girls striking the Charlie’s Angels silhouette and taking a picture in their high school gym … we wanted to be deferential to the TV show, so we created our own thing. I’m sure, to whatever degree, they’ll be cognizant of what we did and create their own thing. It’s totally cool”.

The new CA movie won’t be arriving anytime soon as Banks has Pitch Perfect 3 to tackle first.

Check out more of McG’s interview over on Collider where he also talks about his plans for the Shadowhunters film.
