Deadline have just posted an interesting article that suggest that The Impossible, The Orphanage and the upcoming A Monster Calls helmer Juan Antonio Bayona, could be on his way to secure the director’s chair for Jurassic World 2, which is set for the summer of 2018.
Bayona jumped ship from the World War Z 2 project just last week, and Deadline are reporting that they are hearing his name uttered in the same breath as the dino-sequel which is being set up at Universal.
Of course, there’s no official word from the studio, but the film does have a release date set for June 22, 2018, with both Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard set to return. Colin Trevorrow, who directed Universal’s original $1.6 billion behemoth from last summer, has written the screenplay for the sequel along with Derek Connolly.
More news as we get it.
