Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation writer and director Christopher McQuarrie was apparently brought on board the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story to polish the script, so reports Birth.Movies.Death.
McQuarrie, who is beavering away on the screenplay for the next M:I movie, reportedly tweaked the script early on in production. Gary Whitta and Chris Weitz have also contributed to the screenplay for the stand-alone Star Wars movie which releases in December.
A source told the website: “It’s unlikely that McQuarrie will get a credit on the movie, although one source used the word ‘saved’ when talking about McQuarrie’s contribution to the film.”
Latino Review also posted an article (last October) which reported the same news, briefly stating that ‘Christopher McQuarrie did a two-week polish on the script.’ His contribution to the movie, which is set around a heist aboard the Death Star, is an exciting prospect, especially when we think back to the stunning work that he did on 1995’s The Usual Suspects.
More as we get it.
