Christian Bale was departed the Michael Mann directed Enzo Ferrari biopic. The actor has reportedly left the project after concerns over having to gain weight for the role.
Bale has lost and gained weight for projects in the past, significantly losing weight for his superb turn in The Machinist, and huge gain for roles in American Hustle and his muscle-bulging turn in the Batman movies.
Reports suggest that Bale needed to put on weight to play legendary car maker Ferrari in Mann’s film, and exited due to health concerns. The project will continue to move forward with shooting set to kick off later this year. The hunt now begins for a new actor for the lead.
