According to The Hollywood Reporter, Amber Heard is all set to play the female lead in DC and Warner Brothers’ big-screen Aquaman movie. Heard is officially ‘in negotiations’ to star opposite Jason Momoa‘s title character in the planned movie, which has a release date set for July 27, 2018.
If she joins the project, the actress will play the role of Mera, the love interest of Aquaman and eventual queen of Atlantis. James Wan (The Conjuring, Saw) will direct the feature, which will either be written by David Leslie Johnson (The Conjuring 2), or Kurt Johnstad (300) – there are two scripts currently being written for the studio, who we assume will pick the best.
Amber Heard can currently be seen in awards fodder The Danish Girl.
