Jamie Foxx has signed on the play Little John in the planned Robin Hood: Origins movie that will be led by Taron Egerton in the title role.
Deadline reporrts that Foxx’s Little John will be a “a battle hardened but war weary veteran of The Crusades who starts out distrustful of Robin Hood (they fought on opposite sides), and then warms to the young hero.”
Eve Hewson is already on board to play Maid Marion in the Lionsgate movie, which kicks off shooting in late-summer. Otto Bathurst (Peaky Blinders) will direct.
The film will be produced by Appian Way (Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson) as well as Safe House Productions (Harold and Tory Tunnell).
