Aaron Paul Hints At ‘Better Call Saul’ Season 2 Cameo

Jesse Pinkman.Ever since Better Call Saul premiered last year, fans have frequently asked the inevitable question of whether or not Jesse Pinkman and Walter White will make cameo appearance’s.

Although the prequel series effectively functions as a self-sufficient narrative, it would be incredibly surprising if the drug dealing duo didn’t make an appearance at some point. Given that Better Call Saul also utilises semi-frequent flashbacks and flashforwards, there is definitely a precedent for this to happen.

Now with that in mind, Aaron Paul has dropped some rather tantalising hints that his character could feature sooner rather than later. Check out what he had to say below:

‘Hopefully I will be involved. But I don’t know when that may be. I’m not going to say anything more. But I’m absolutely open to the idea. Hopefully it happens. I’m all about it.

If I were to be involved, I can promise that it would be done in the most beautiful way. Because there’s no way they’re going to bring Jesse Pinkman back just to bring him back. They’re going to bring him back and the audience is going to be very excited not just to see him, but to see how it all unfolded.

We’ve been talking about it even before they started shooting the show. He [Vince Gilligan] asked if I would be open to it, and I said of course. ‘Anything you’re involved with, you don’t even have to send me the material. I’ll just say yes. I owe you my career.’ I have a career because of that man. I would do anything he asked me to do.’

When asked to elaborate on whether we might see Paul reprise his role this season, he responded:

‘Maybe [laughs]. I don’t want to say anything. All I can say is I do know is there are some very exciting surprises coming up in the second season in ‘Better Call Saul.’So I highly, highly recommend watching the show’

Reading between the lines it seems very likely that Jesse could feature in an upcoming episode of the show this year. However, Paul could just as easily be toying with us in order to generate speculation. Regardless of this, it seems clear that Gilligan is keen on bringing back fan-favourite characters in the prequel series. It just appears to be a matter of when, rather than if.

On top of that it would make a certain degree of sense. After all, when Jesse first referenced Saul in the early days of Breaking Bad, he definitely seemed to have an awareness of him (at the very least).

Fingers crossed for one final ‘bitch!’ before the curtain closes on Albuquerque and its corrupt inhabitants forever.

Better Call Saul Season 2 will premiere on Netflix in the UK on 16th February.
