The British Academy Of Film and Television Arts today announced the nominees for their annual ‘Rising Star’ award, an honour that recognises emerging acting talent. The honour has previously been awarded to the likes of Tom Hardy, James McAvoy, Will Poulter, Juno Temple and last year, Jack O’Connell.
This year, Star Wars: The Force Awakens star John Boyega, Fifty Shades Of Grey actress Dakota Johnson, Room actress Brie Larson, Kingsman: The Secret Service actor Taron Egerton and Bel Powley, from 2015’s The Diary Of A Teenage Girl are nominated.
The award is voted for by the British public, and the winner will be revealed at a lavish ceremony with the rest of the awards on Sunday 14th February.
