Assassins Creed photos: Michael Fassbender pictured in first official action images from the upcoming film.
Two new Assassins Creed photos have been delivered ahead of its 2016 release. The adaptation of the popular video game will star Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, Michael Kenneth Williams and Ariane Labed, and will land in cinemas on 30th December, 2016, so there’s exactly one year to go.
The Assassins Creed photos come courtesy of Empire magazine who scored the exclusive look. Both images feature Fassbender’s Callum Lynch in action, and you can see them below.
We were treated to our first look at Michael Fassbender in the film a couple of months back, and we also learned of Brendan Gleeson and Jeremy Irons being cast in the motion picture, but until now things have been quite quiet of the movie, which is still shooting.
Here’s the official synopsis for the movie.
Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.
Assassin’s Creed stars Academy Award® nominee Michael Fassbender (X-Men: Days of Future Past, 12 Years a Slave) and Academy Award® winner Marion Cotillard (The Dark Knight Rises, La Vie en Rose). The film is directed by Justin Kurzel (Snowtown, Macbeth) and produced by New Regency, Ubisoft Motion Pictures, DMC Films and Kennedy/Marshall, with 20th Century Fox distributing.
The anticipation for this film is indeed through the roof as the video games on which the film is based still prove to be hugely popular. We’ll bring you more news on the film as we get it (we’ll hopefully get a trailer soon), but until then, enjoy these first Assassins Creed photos.
